Heavy Metals

Heavy Metals

The presence of excess heavy metals like mercury, nickel and copper in our bodies has been shown to block our ability to use essential minerals like zinc, for example — which is critical for producing stomach acid and protecting us from toxins.

The reasons why heavy metals accumulate in our bodies include low zinc levels, a “leaky gut” syndrome and inadvertent skin absorption. For example, the levels of aluminium in our bodies will rise over time from the regular use of underarm anti-perspirants, regular table salt and some toothpastes.

Referral and testing for heavy metals may be needed in some cases to assess for toxicity. Both blood tests and tissue mineral analysis can provide very useful insights.

Happy Teeth has the facilities and connections to assess weather you need these types of test. Dr Malik’s dedication to your overall health means he checks your entire body’s state of health and regulation.
